![]() ![]() Why do they bother setting up a recommendation system, then?pBecause its the best they can do with the lack of a built in IM.Ĭlearly you are way smarter about this than massive online retailers.Or you just are being too defensive about this bad idea to actually see the differences. Why don't they just say "If you see something a friend would like, IM them about it!"Because bmany of them don't have built in IM features. It shows them a link, You can say somerthing as to why you think they should look at the game and surprise.they can come back to it later. Originally posted by Frunobulax:So you're saying that all the online shops that have a "recommend to friend" feature are idiots? You already have that feature. All you're doing is asking for the Steam programmers to duplicate something that can already be done.Īsking them for log files for chats would be far more effective and would actually solve a number of issues at the same time. You're not saving any time with what you suggest, you're not making it easier for people either. And if they were going to do that for a whole new system which is already redundant they could just add in log files to the current chat like many people have been asking for for a long time which would take care of your "they need to write it down" ![]() The system you suggested says nothing about having a message that they can go back to. Or if they are just on steam and not in a game, they could just leave it for later or look at it right then. Or they get it while playing a game and then can leave it till they are done. Who would have to stop and write what down? The person who gets the message? Why would they need to write it down? They are either not on steam at the time and get the message when they load it up, and can then go check it out or just leave it for a little later. Your way would mean they have to stop and write it down.
